Department of Forestry & Wildlife Management

Inauguration of the Tree Plantations Activity was jointly organized by the IUCN, Pakistan Koren Embassy, Forest Dept. KP and the Students from the Dept. of Forestry & Wildlife Management.

On 27 September 2022, Tuesday, the Inauguration of the Tree Plantations Activity was jointly organized by the IUCN, Pakistan Koren Embassy, Forest Dept. and the Students from Dept of Forest and Wildlife Management, University of Haripur along with the Hazara Express Highway nearby Shah Maqsood Interchange.

The occasion was graced by his Excellency Worthy Ambassadors of the South Korea, Shu Shangpyo, Mehmood Akthar Cheema, Country Director, IUCN Pakistan, Asim Jamal, Project Manager IUCN, Kifayat Ullah Baloch, Conservator of Hazara Circle , Muhammad Saad Khan, Event Program Manager from the University of Haripur and the Official from the Motorway Police, has planted the trees of various species and actively participated in the event of the Plantations Campaign.

A variety of tree species (forest, ornamental, and fruit) have been planted to achieve the objective of increasing forest cover and help to restore the ecosystem.

At the plantation event, H.E. Suh Sangpyo, Ambassador of Republic of Korea, is committed to assist, encourage nature conservation, and aimed to support Pakistan in combatting the Climate Change.

The significance of such plantation activities in restoring biodiversity and ecosystem amidst devastating floods crises and global warming.

The mountain communities play a significant role in combating the adverse effects of Climate change.
