Dated: 15-11-2023

Another Milestone for the University of Haripur: Successful Visit by British Council. The University of Haripur continues its dedicated efforts towards the welfare and promising future of its students. Collaborating with governmental bodies, private foundations, and foreign donor organizations, including higher education institutions and local industries, the university remains steadfast in its commitment.

The University of Haripur has inked agreements with various national and international organizations, such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development Company (KPEZDMC), Hattar Industrial Association (HIA), Haripur Chamber of Commerce (HCCI), National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), Qureshi Industries, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), Yahya Welfare, District Headquarters Hospital, Islamabad Diagnostic Center, and Chaghtai Labs.

Notably, a delegation from the British Council, comprising Jane Rexworthy, Executive Director; John Mountford, Expert Consultant; Rossitsa Stavreva Volger, Senior; Hamza Saleem Ahmed, Senior Manager Higher Education Partnership; and Mubasher Sheikh, Program Manager Higher Education Partnership, visited the University of Haripur.
The primary objective of the British Council, in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development Company (KPEZDMC), is to identify skilled individuals from industries and educational institutions, providing them with training to ensure their success and contribute to positive societal change.

Given the University of Haripur's existing commitment to community development alongside KPEZDMC, it is poised to organize training in collaboration with the British Council. This collaboration aims to support the British Council in developing, adopting, and scaling up a co-sector upskilling model. The focus is on promoting the transition to employment by early identification of skills development and training innovations.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafiq ur Rahman assured the British Council delegation of full support, emphasizing that this collaboration marks a significant step towards a more promising future for students and the broader community. By joining forces with the British Council, the University of Haripur remains dedicated to paving the way for skill development, creating opportunities for skill transfer, and opening new employment avenues
